Poor
Business Complaint
"We want our money back for the painting caulking
and all. Not asking for any of the wood rot money
back, which we should because we got taken advantage
of. Very poor service. We just want it right, but
not with Certa pro doing it. It cost us all in all
$5000.00 and we want $2500.00 back!"

Sub
Standard Work
The owner told me the crew made a mistake by spraying
the job. The grain is showing on all the spots they
sanded and many areas were just painted over. I
have 2 rotted boards that need replacing but I do
not want them back on my property.

a real good Sub Contractor that would really benefit
their future..At the end the Sub Contractor never
paid the person so they send mr the bill for the
Job done at my house..CertaPro punked the SubContractor
for their money.

Disappointed
- CERTA PRO PAINTERS
I feel stupid for not doing more research. Got very
detailed, thorough, and professional proposal from
franchise owner in March. They (crew of strangers
we could not communicate with) showed up out of
the blue to wash. "Prepped", "patched" and "primed"
all in one day- seems impossible. We weren't home,
so are a bit suspicious as to the extent of promised
work actually performed. Painted right over flowers,
shrubs, old window well cover remnants, broke numerous
branches, plopped landscape bricks right on top
of my now crushed flowers, paint on windows and
doors, old white paint still showing in dozens of
spots. Complete disaster area around house- minimal
job site clean up.
...Afraid things are about to get ugly

Very
unprofessional
I hired Certa Pro painters thinking I was going
to get a professional job done..after spending thousands
of dollars, I have nothing to show except, paint
drippings, paint that appears to be splattered on,
missing paint in areas, pimples all over the walls,
distinct roller and paint brush marks, repairs that
were supposed to be made that were not, or if they
were, were unprofessionally done and still quite
visible, every room has a problem... not one room
in the entire house is perfect or near perfect
...I've asked for at least a refund of half the
money, the franchisee led me to believe he would
agree, after having his attorney draw up a paper
so I can sign it and end the story...today I called
him he said his attorney told him not to give me
back a dime...meantime thousands of dollars were
spent and my home looks like it was never painted.

Scam
and cheating
They left behind all of their garbage, coffee cups,
etc. They spit chew spit everywhere the entire time
they were here. They didn't want to cover or tape,
so they hacked down my bushes, yet still spilled
paint all over everything. Since my second complaint,
they refuse to now return to even finish a minimal
job. Their response is, "You get what you pay for",
even thought they chose the price and wrote the
contract which they will not honor. Countless people
have looked at their work and are truly shocked
at the poor quality. I could have done much better
myself.

Costco
and CertaPro
CertaPro Painters is represented in some
Costco stores.
Here's a complaint
from a customer who bought a CertaPro paint job
at Costco. |

Irresponsible
Painters
We had heard great things about this compnay so
we hired CertaPro to paint our stairway going
to the second floor in our house. This included
the steps, which were green, and the high walls
and ceiling. They told us this would be a 2 day
job, with a supervisor always on site. They ended
up making it a 7 hour job with one person at the
house when we returned home from work at 4:00.
The painter was very ticked off that he was still
working and kept saying how he was going to get
it done that day and he just wanted to get out
of there. He threw all the leftover paint onto
our snowbanks, which has since melted, got on
the driveway and the dogs have tracked into the
house. There was paint all over the doornob going
into the house. Now we just realized that they
never put primer over the green paint on the stairs
first. Because as some of the dark mocha paint
color is chiping in areas, the green is starting
to show through. Called to complain, especially
since the expensive cost of the job, and did not
get a very satisfactory answer. In the future
I will use another company or do it myself if
I can. If you do use this company, stay at home
while they are there and watch what they are doing.

Note:
The above complaint sounds like the painter may
have been a low-paid subcontractor who wanted
to get the job done quickly and get out of there.
Here's comment from another site -- someone who
says he worked as a subcontractor for CertaPro:
This
is by far the lowest pay for a subcontractor I
have ever heard of after sixteen (16) years in
the business. No wonder they had warranty work
already after being in Milwaukee only two years
when I started - and quite a bit of it at that.
I finally realized that some of their subcontractors
only did as much as what they got paid for rather
than doing all that was in the contract.
But
the real kicker is that they never tell the property
owner that they are subcontracting out what they
themselves had been contracted to do. I believe
this is dishonest of them and that it may actually
be illegal in the State of Wisconsin. The owner
of the local franchise comes across as a nice
enough and knowledgable guy and he talks the talk
of a slick salesman, but if he were up front and
honest with their customers and told them prior
to contracting that he was going to sub out the
job to who-knows-who and only pay them 50% of
the contract for both labor AND materials, how
many jobs do you think he would actually get?

CertaPro
Truth: There ARE complaints.
Valid complaints from dissatisfied customers. |
| |
|
| But
CertaPro Brags About Its Customer Satisfaction! |
| |
CertaPro
shows "customer satisfaction" ratings
at each of its franchisees' web pages. They generally
look pretty good.
However,
here's the sticky wicket: CertaPro may not obtain
customer satisfaction ratings from ALL customers.
So those franchisee satisfaction ratings at its
website reflects only those people it contacted.
Here's
an example:
|
 |
| |
Those
franchisee satisfaction ratings at CertaPro's
website may not tell the whole story. I don't
believe they include ALL CertaPro customers--maybe
half or less.
A note:
Sorry to use you as an example, Steve. But you
have to admit it's an excellent example.
You
can thank corporate, Steve. They decided to undertake
a massive effort, including hiring a "Reputation
Management" consultant, to deny the complaints
and, effectively, call the complaints lies.
Believe
the reality, not the hype.

| CertaPro
Painters Complaints From Customers: |
| |
Go to the
website
MeasuredUp.com
and search for "CertaPro" or "CertaPro
Painters" if you'd care to read more customers'
comments about Certapro Painters.
You can find
other sites with complaints at google, but CertaPro's
"Reputation Management" firm Aviatech worked
frantically to try to get their own crap ranked high
on a google search for "CertaPro complaints".
You see, they want to bury the legitimate complaints--push
them farther down in a search so people won't see them.
So you may have to scroll through several pages at google
to find the legitimate complaints.
Speaks highly
of CertaPro, doesn't it?
If you don't like the complaints, try to get them out
of sight.
Wanna
reduce the complaints, CertaPro?
Maybe you could stop relying so heavily on subcontractors.
